The Advisory Board
We are but a private company working in this world of culture. We have
enlisted some help to offer feedback on the applicants and to ensure this
process is fair and open. Meet our advisory board:
Valerie Featherston - Fanshaw and Associates
Valerie is a Victoria poet and has a deep commitment to the arts
- which she sees as vital to the day to day life of all. She has been
a business owner since 1987, a consultant in risk management and business
strategy, educated on the prairies and at the University of Victoria (Fine
Arts). She is passionate about the role of small business, the families
that own them and the part they play in society as a whole and Canada
in particular. She is kept busy with her seven children and seven grandchildren.
Estelle Guthro - The Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum
Estelle has an extensive museums background having worked in the field
of culture and heritage for sixteen years. She has proven expertise in
all areas of museum work, including collections and records management,
artifact acquisition and processing, and exhibit design. She most recently
completed a post-graduate diploma in Museum Studies, a comprehensive distance
program offered by the University of Leicester, England. Her work experience
coupled with higher education has furthered her knowledge and understanding
in all areas of museum work. She has excellent organizational, communicative,
and administrative skills and proven leadership qualities with a proficiency
at building relationships. Her passion has provided her the opportunity
to work with diverse collections and institutions such as, the Glenbow
Museum, Vancouver Museum, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. She is currently
the General Manager of the Buffalo Nations Luxton Museum, in Banff, Alberta.
Nicholas Tuele - Art of Art Consulting
Nicholas Tuele’s career spans more than 30 years with experience.
He is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers
and serves on the board of the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame. He
holds a Master of Arts degree in Canadian Art History and has published
extensively on Canadian artists and museum matters.
Tuele is the principal of Art of Art Consulting – a company specializing
in creative solutions for clients in the cultural sector. He is the author
of the British Columbia Museums Association best practices module for
the use of technology in museums and galleries.

a museum or gallery for this program, we are looking for some keen museum-type
people to join. It doesn’t take a huge commitment, just a little bit of
