We are but a private company working in this world of culture. We have enlisted some help to offer feedback on the applicants and to ensure this process is fair and open. Meet our advisory board:

Estelle Guthro - The Military Museums

Estelle has an extensive museums background having worked in the field of culture and heritage for sixteen years. She has proven expertise in all areas of museum work, including collections and records management, artifact acquisition and processing, and exhibit design. She most recently completed a post-graduate diploma in Museum Studies, a comprehensive distance program offered by the University of Leicester, England. Her work experience coupled with higher education has furthered her knowledge and understanding in all areas of museum work. She has excellent organizational, communicative, and administrative skills and proven leadership qualities with a proficiency at building relationships. Her passion has provided her the opportunity to work with diverse collections and institutions such as, the Glenbow Museum, Vancouver Museum, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery. She is currently the Manager of Volunteer Programs at the Military Museums, in Calgary, Alberta.

Nicholas Tuele - Art of Art Consulting

Nicholas Tuele’s career spans more than 30 years with experience. He is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers and serves on the board of the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Canadian Art History and has published extensively on Canadian artists and museum matters.

Tuele is the principal of Art of Art Consulting – a company specializing in creative solutions for clients in the cultural sector. He is the author of the British Columbia Museums Association best practices module for the use of technology in museums and galleries.

Lisa Codd – Burnaby Village Museum

Lisa Codd is the Curator at the Burnaby Village Museum, where she has worked since 2005. She was previously the Curator at the Langley Centennial Museum, and at Haney House in Maple Ridge. At the Burnaby Village Museum, she was recently a member of a project team that brought archives, museum, and heritage planning staff together to create an integrated, on-line database system to provide a unified search to all of the City’s heritage assets. Lisa is Vice President of the BC Museums Association, and has previously served as the President of the Archives Association of British Columbia, Vice President of the Maple Ridge Historical Society, and Chair of the Maple Ridge Community Heritage Commission. She earned a M.A. in History from Simon Fraser University in 2000, and is currently completing her diploma in Cultural Resource Management at the University of Victoria.

Christina Tessier – Portrait Gallery of Canada

Since late 2008, Christina Tessier has been working in marketing and communications with the Portrait Gallery of Canada, a program of Library and Archives Canada. Prior to her position with the Gallery, Christina was the Director of Bytown Museum for six years. She was also the founding Chair of the Ottawa Museum Network (OMN), which represents the interests of Ottawa’s 11 local museums.

Christina is the past president of the Council of Heritage Organizations in Ottawa, a local heritage umbrella organization. She is also a member of an Ontario Museum Association task force whose aim is to increase provincial funding for museums.

Christina Tessier has worked in marketing and communications for a number of federal government programs and private sector firms including Industry Canada’s Information Highway Applications Branch and an Internet security firm. Christina is a graduate of the University of British Columbia with a degree in Classical Studies. She also holds a diploma in Applied Museum Studies from Algonquin College.
