The Big Push
Phases I and II were undertaken for the eventual posting
of our collection database online for public access via
our website and kiosk in the Art Gallery...
...The ultimate goal was for public access and improved internal
access to our collection
- Report to Museums Assistance Program, 1999
- 3 phases of a MAP grant-funded project: 1997, 1999, 2000
- Phase I - 5,000 images shot (slide), 3,000 digitized
- Phase II - 5,000 images shot (digital), 7,000 digitized
- Phase III - accessible online
- Now approx 13,000 collection images digitized
- entire collection (approx 16,000 works) available online 24/7 and updated nightly
