Case Study
Richard
Hunt is a Vancouver Island artist of international caliber. The Richard
Hunt Kwa Gulth Arts Ltd.web site was developed by Zero One for Hunt
as a private client. This “web exhibition” represents
both Hunt’s Kwaguilth heritage, and the arts he creates with
his family designs. Zero One has taken the rich tones of Hunt’s
prints and carvings as the inspiration for the site’s sophisticated
design palette and the tradition of his family and their artistic
heritage as the basis for the themes and organization of the site
material. The work of the artist is displayed in a gallery of high
quality images that site visitors can view as a collection or peruse
in the separate areas of carving, jewelry, prints and clothing.
The site also creates a special section for Hunt’s discussion
of the traditions of the Kwaguilth Nation, which includes an online
interactive forum on Kwaguilth topics. Links to articles on issues
such as cultural property are built into the design, and the site
is regularly updated with topics of interest and news items, such
as the bestowing of an honourary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the
University of Victoria to Hunt during the 2004 Spring Convocation. |
